Mr. Ferraco is the founder and president of Human Designs. After obtaining his bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Pittsburgh, he attended the prestigious Northwestern University's orthotic program. From there he traveled to Southern California where he attended UCLA's prosthetic program. He subsequently earned his ABC certification in prosthetics and orthotics in 1987.
In 1984, Mr. Merritt earned his Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology from California State University, Fullerton. After years of being a small business owner, Mr. Merritt decided to change careers and attended California State University, Dominguez Hills, where he completed his prosthetics education in 1996. In the following year, he was accepted into the orthotics program at Rancho Los Amigos Medical Center where he was awarded for academic excellence by the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists.
Mr. Dang's experience in the field began with training at the Orthotic & Prosthetic Technical School in Spokane Washington. Two years were spent developing hand skills and fabrication techniques with materials ranging from wood, metal and leather to high strength composites and plastics. Following his education in Spokane was a transfer to the University of Washington in Seattle. There he attended the orthotics & prosthetics practitioner certificate program. Besides lectures and research projects, the coursework included intense clinical involvement with patients admitted to the attached University Hospital.
Ms. McCarthy obtained her undergraduate degree in General Biology from the University of California at San Diego in 1994. After graduating from the California State University at Dominguez Hills Certificate Program in Prosthetics in 1996, she completed her residency and then practiced at RGP Prosthetic Research Center in San Diego. She joined FlexFoot, Inc. as a Clinical Prosthetist in 1999, conducting field evaluations and technical training for advanced prosthetic foot products. She became the Director of Technical Services for Össur North America, the FlexFoot parent company and spearheaded the clinical education program in the United States known as the Össur Academy.
Mrs. Avila has enjoyed working in the healthcare field for over 14 years. She graduated from Bryman School in 1985 with a degree in Medical Office Management. She began her medical career working as an office manager for a pediatric office in 1986. She then went on to manage an Ob/Gyn practice for 6 years, until 1996.
Before becoming a Certified Mastectomy Fitter for Human Designs, Ms. Calder was a Registered Nurse. Upon graduating in 1972, she worked in various medical facilities including LAS-USC Medical Center, Visiting Nurse Association of California, and Vista Del Mar Childcare Association. She retired from nursing to assist her family in their manufacturing business and later became a full-time homemaker and mother.
