Human Designs Volunteers at the Tour de Cure in Long Beach
Human Designs Prosthetics and Orthotics volunteers at the annual Tour de Cure Ship to Shore fundraising cycling event in Long Beach, California to support the American Diabetes Association.
Long Beach, CA, May 4, 2010 – Human Designs Prosthetics and Orthotics' staff volunteered at the annual Tour de Cure Ship to Shore event at the Queen Mary Park in Long Beach, CA on Sunday, May 2, 2010. The ride was one of 43 nationwide events to benefit the American Diabetes Association and their mission to prevent and cure diabetes, and to improve the lives of those affected by the disease.
“The American Diabetes Association is grateful for the outpouring of support from the community for its Tour de Cure Ship to Shore Ride. Without a spectacular volunteer showing, a ride of this magnitude would never be possible,” said Bo Smith, Director of Marketing and Communications, American Diabetes Association.
Andrea Ferraco, Human Designs General Manager, was pleased to take part in the event as well. “We have been serving the Long Beach community for 20 years, and a large number of people we help are diabetic. The disease can be severely debilitating, and our hope is that through events like the Tour de Cure we can reach out to improve the lives of more individuals affected by diabetes.”
